These are from a book I got for Christmas (thanks) called The Sleeping Beauty and other tales from Perrault. It was published by Blackie and Son Ltd and is not dated but probably 1930's. There are four colour plates but only one has a signature, which I can't read. Nice illustrations though. I liked this quote from the Preface:
"A small chosen library is like a walled garden where a child may safely play. In that charmed seclusion the love of books, like the love of flowers, grows of itself."
Seemed appropriate to me, at least, as one of mt very favourite books is The Secret Garden.
