Arthur Herbert Buckland - Peter Pan or The Boy in the Moon

Little is know about the artist, but he seems to have painted other mystical and fantastical subjects.

it sure looks mystical to me . very light use of ( i wanted to write "colours" but there only are like 3 of them here...) but general image's idea fits really nice.

I thought, what a beautiful face - though I always imagined Peter as a bit wilder, more savage somehow.

Actually, the artist is Harlan Paige Buckland (1842-1919) my great-grandfather. The family has several of these "moonfaces" and the models may well have been his children. He spent most of his career in Troy, New York. Susan McDougall mcdougallse@gmail.com
